October 2010 - Good News - A new bridleway has been opened. The new bridleway is at Emerson's Green across the open space. 7 years after I first started negotiations it has come to pass. The sad thing is, many of the local horses have gone due to the local developments but it is still a useful link. The Boyd Valley bridleway, running through the fields along the River Boyd between Doynton and Hinton has been improved so that all the gates can be opened from horseback. The sleeper bridge has been repaired and the bit between two gates, which was always a boggy mess, has been surfaced. I rode this today, October 31, and everything is working as it should. Unfortunately, the section of this bridleway after the Hinton Road can be tricky due to the bridle gate on the river edge. Today I was lucky, the gate between the fields was open. Ann |
